Praise & Fitness a year agoFor accountability’s sake, here is what I commit to do during April:
- Walk 15-20 miles per week (3-4 times)
- Work out 3-4 times/week with free weights for strength training
- Push-ups and sit-ups 3-4 times/week
- Eat more chocolate (per @Jenn ‘s post on how good it is for us) 🙂
-
This great . Please I will like to join the Challenge. Please drink more water too😀

This is great! We will check in on this challenge. Let’s set a more specific goal/number for the push-ups/sit-ups…like 20 each 3-4 times a week?

I normally do 40-50 push-ups and 50 sit ups at a time

Praise & Fitness a year agoCHOCOLATE!!! @dmoore mentioned it, and we all think about it. Here are some benefits:
Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, offers several health benefits, including improved heart health, brain function, and mood, thanks to its antioxidants and flavonoids.
Here’s a more detailed look at the potential health benefits of…

When I had my goodbye Party, I made big Belgian wafers. As a topping on clotted cream I made a sauce of 2 parts of cream heated it and melted 1 part of dark chocolate in it. We kept the rest in the fridge and used it as spread on bread.

Praise & Fitness a year agoSomething to ponder: our brain is the engine of our body. It responds as we have conditioned it to respond. Our mind is the driver of our body. We can control the way our brain works and how it responds by what we think about and what we focus on. For example, if we are stressed and continue to turn to foods to comfort us, our brain will tell…

Praise & Fitness a year agoThe weekend is upon us again! What is one way you will stay active this weekend? I have a 5K Parkrun Saturday and also am planning some walks with the kids.
-
Thanks Jenn. We appreciate your example and commitment to help us be more healthy and fit. I am hoping to get 10 miles of walking in this weekend if my schedule in Zimbabwe allows.

My workout this weekend: yesterday: cutting down a huge bush and a couple of branches of another. Today cutting the branches into pieces. Tomorrow perhaps a bike ride. We’ll see

Praise & Fitness a year agoTake time to make a goal for yourself this week. What is one thing you will do more of (or do less of)? Mine is going to be eating more vegetables and drinking more water!
-
My goal is to walk more in the next country than I had time to in the past two. I try to walk 15-20 miles per week when I’m at home, but my erratically full schedule on the road makes that goal much more elusive sometimes.

Praise & Fitness a year agoHere’s a fun cardio core workout! Bring a weight if you have it (or something with weight to it), a towel/mat, and water. This workout focuses on Ps. 55:22, casting your cares upon the Lord for He cares for us! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQVbzfoz2NE
