Hey everyone, please pray for Karlie. She is the 6th grade daughter of a lady in Pensacola who went to Zambia with us this year on mission. Below is the latest news we have on Karlie. So sad.
Update on my niece Karlie
There has been no brain activity detected since she has come in. Labs show her organs are beginning to shut down as a result. She has 1 final test left to confirm.
How did this happen? We don’t know. The best guess is she had a seizure while sleeping which led to her body being positioned in a way that made breathing difficult. This combined with her lack of brain activity means she never felt pain or fear.
The result is Karlie’s family and friends have been able to say beautiful goodbyes before her body joins her soul. There have been stories and laughter, oceans upon oceans of tears, hugs, and things said out loud that we all should say while the people we love are here.
The support my sister has gotten is simply amazing. They thank you for all your prayers.
Note, her and her siblings learn a verse each month. This is the verse for this month and was on a temporary tattoo all the family had on them this week which has been repeated many times,
“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14
