      Holy Week: Saturday

Holy Saturday — Waiting in the Silence

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”*

      — Lamentations 3:25–26

Holy Saturday is the day of waiting. Jesus had been crucified, the tomb was sealed, and hope seemed buried. The disciples sat in grief and confusion, not yet knowing that resurrection was just around the corner.

Sometimes our lives feel like Holy Saturday—when prayers seem unanswered, when circumstances feel uncertain, and when God appears silent. Yet even in the silence, God is still at work. What feels like an ending may actually be the beginning of something new.

Holy Saturday reminds us that waiting is not wasted time. God often does His deepest work in the quiet places we cannot see. Hold on to hope. Resurrection is coming!

Lord, in seasons of waiting and uncertainty, help me to trust You. When I cannot see what You are doing, strengthen my faith and fill my heart with hope. Remind me that You are always working, even in the silence.

      Amen.

      • Can’t love this enough. So good. Thank you, Jenn. This reminds me of what @Donny is preaching on tomorrow for Easter.
